We have been married for almost 20 years and finally have the hobby farm of our dreams.
After breeding and training German Shepherds for many years out of our suburban home, we knew we needed more space- and that brought us to Pitter Patter Pastures.
The home came with a few starter goats, but we had to add more. And then some more. We also became victims of something called “Chicken Math”. #IYKYK
We decided early on, we were not into slaughtering or eating our animals, so all new additions had to serve a different purpose. That is how we became Fiber Farmers! We added Angora goats for silky mohair and Babydoll and Harlequin sheep for wool. It was been so much fun learning how to process fiber products. This spring will be our first breeding season- so wish us luck! We have 4 bred does. Click here for pics of the Spring 2024 kids!
We have also added two livestock guardian dogs, Francis and Clare. If you have ever been out to the farm, you have surely met Francis (Clare is still in training). This, and Megan being diagnosed with dog allergies, have brought us to branching out to some new breeds of puppies. We adopted a Standard Poodle named Daisy first. Then added Duke, a Bernese Mountain Dog. They have been a pleasure to watch grew and play. They have exciting things coming up this spring as well! Click here to see Shades of Spring Litter!
But, rest assured, we still have our German Shepherds. We are just giving the females a break for now while we focus on the rest of the farm.

Let’s Get At ‘ Er
Our Goats
Our Angora goats are registered through CAGBA. We have selected multiple lines to ensure diversity in our breeding pairs while also producing the finest mohair product.
We also have one Pygora goat that produces some wonderful fiber too. He did breed this fall, and I am excited to see the results!

We currently have one Babydoll and one Harlequin ewe on the farm, along with their Babydoll buddy. Breeding the ewes is anticipated to begin Fall 2024 for Spring 2025 babies.
Our Dogs
We currently have four breeds of dogs: German Shepherds (GSD), Bernese Mountain Dogs (BMD), and Standard Poodles (SP), and F1 Bernedoodles (BD).
Raising Puppies- the Pitter Patter Way
We aim to raise our puppies to be healthy and happy. From even before birth, we provide an environment for our mothers to grow and deliver their litters. Once the puppies are born, we create a calm and stress-free environment for the puppies to be raised in. We begin ENS on the 3rd day and continue with exercises to help stimulate and desensitize the pups to various aspects.
Scroll to see the various exercises we complete.
We use The Badass Breeder Empowering Puppies Curriculum (explained a little more below) in order to help ensure properly exposed puppies.
By following the Badass Breeder’s Empowering Puppies Curriculum, we are able to identify pups are good candidates for service work and give them a head start with their socialization.
Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS)
ENS exercises begin on Day 3 and continue through Day 16, once a day. These gentle exercises introduce puppies to gentle stressors for short periods of time (3-5 seconds). When done daily, these exercises will help improve the puppy’s stress response later in life.
Benefits to ENS:
ENS Exercises:
We perform these daily from days 3-16.
Early Scent Introduction (ESI)
ESI exercises begin on Day 3 and continue through Day 16, once a day. These scent exercises introduce puppies to various scents and smells for short periods of time (3-5 seconds). When done daily, these exercises will help improve the puppy’s nose awareness, confidence, and stability later in life.
Responses to ESI:
Responses are marked on chart for each puppy

Our Bernedoodles
Here at 3Ps, we have been breeding German Shepherd dogs for over 6 years.
The Bernedoodle line is new to us. We have fallen in love with the Standard Poodle and Bernese Mountain Dog breeds. We wish to breed the best characteristics of both into your new furry friend.
We recognize special considerations are required when raising both poodles and doodles. We are raising the puppies with the Badass Breeder Puppy Curriculum. This curriculum strives to empower puppies from a young age. We will evaluate puppies after 6 weeks to help match you with the perfect best friend.
Welcome to our new adventure! We cannot wait to help you adopt your new best friend.

It’s been a fun learning process!
We currently have a selection of Silkie chickens that we plan to begin breeding and selling.
We have loved having chickens and fresh eggs to enjoy and share, but there is something special about those silkie hens that I love.
This is a project in the works- to be added as we continue.

Our Garden
I’m still learning all about this.
James bought me a greenhouse and I try- but we only produced a small amount last summer/fall. I hope to keep growing that this spring.
I fear I do better with living animal than living plants though. (And to think, we have all this great chicken and goat manure & compost!)
Thank you.
We look forward to you visiting.
